Indonesian-based edtech startup HarukaEDU raises an undisclosed fund in its Series C round led by SIG.
HarukaEDU (PT Haruka Edukasi Utama) is a company that provides a turn-key solution to enable universities to offer quality online education with minimum investments and risk. Its vision is to provide a brighter future for Indonesian through affordable, quality online degrees and education.
HarukaEDU was reported to secure an undisclosed amount in its recent Series C Funding Round led by SIG – a US-based global trading firm. AppWorks, GDP Ventures and Gunung Sewu Kencana also participated in the said round.
HarukaEDU’s existing investor Samator Education also participated in the round.
According to the company, funds collected from its recent round will be used in the company’s expansion into B2B services. They are also planning to further develop its learning platform www.Pintaria.com for the Indonesian people to upskill and reskill.
HarukaEDU’s CEO Novistiar Rustandi said, “With this approach, we aim to achieve the same learning outcome compared to regular offline training, yet reducing the number of working hour spent on training by 50%, offering companies potential savings of millions USD per year.”
The edtech’s educational platform Pintaria.com will also focus on vocational training programs in 2020.
The startup now works with more than 15 higher education institution partners in Indonesia and is one of the three larger companies in the country in terms of funding.
