The company said it expects to launch vaccination clinics at additional warehouses across the country as more vaccine supply becomes available to front-line employees in other states.
Amazon in partnership with local government and public health officials are beginning to host on-site vaccination events administered by licensed health care providers at an initial set of Amazon operations building in the United States.
Although the eCommerce company is kicking off vaccination efforts in three states, it is said it will expand the program nationwide as more vaccines become available in other states.
“This is an important initiative not only for the health and safety of Amazon employees but for the communities where our teams live and work. Our events will protect Amazon employees while also helping ease the burden on community-run vaccination clinics,” the company said.
According to the company’s press release, it opened its first on-site at a warehouse outside of St. Louis on March 25. So far, more than 1,000 employees have signed up to get vaccinated at the clinic.
