DP World recognizing one of India’s problem and is launching their very first hyperloop transport project in the country.
DP World is a leading enabler of global trade and an integral part of the supply chain, including new developments underway in India, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. DP World operates multiple yet related businesses – from marine and inland terminals, maritime services, logistics and ancillary services to technology-driven trade solutions.
Container handling is the company’s core business and it generates more than three-quarters of its revenue. One of its operations is in Jebel Ali Port, the largest marine terminal in the Middle East and flagship of DP World’s portfolio of over 78 marine terminals across six continents.
DP World revealed that it is launching its first hyperloop project in India. the company’s Chairman, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, also confirmed the project’s destination saying the first project will be in India. According to him, they already signed an agreement and they are looking at how to test the project.
By thinking ahead, foreseeing change and innovation, they aim to create the most productive, efficient, and safe trade solutions. The company is eager to go on the next step and is investing in something they believe is going to add value, bin Sulayem further added.
Hyperloop transport promises to be faster than air travel but at a fraction of the cost. The chairman said that they believe there is a need for it in India and that one of the big problems in India is transportation.
bin Sulayem did not give a comment as for when the project will start. Instead, the Chairman said that they have a team in India that is working very hard. They are working with the DP Worlds office in Los Angeles.
