FreshBuys Collaborates with Tartland Baguio Pasarabo and Rico’s Lengua de Gato

FreshBuys will officially carry the names of Tartland Baguio Pasarabo and Rico’s Lengua de Gato – the famous delicacy manufacturers in Baguio.

FreshBuys is an organization that helps and promotes local farmers and local products. The e-commerce platform continues to deliver fresh and quality products to its clients.

FreshBuys recently inked a partnership with ZAGANA Inc., an online platform for fresh and vegetables and fruits. The organization also partners with the new delivery app, Pick.A.Roo, an all-in-one and on-demand premium lifestyle delivery app that gets everything you need straight from the store to your door.

To continuously support local products, FreshBuys has also partnered with Rico’s Lengua de Gato and Tartland Baguio Pasarabo – an all-time delicacy favorite from the City of Pines, Baguio City.

Tartland Baguio Pasarabo started in 1993 when Angelita ‘Angie” dela Cruz, residing from Baguio, decided to use her free time baking tarts using a borrowed recipe from her best friend. While waiting for her children at school, she offered her creation to her fellow mothers. As she expected, the meticulous tongues of the mothers liked the taste of her work. Angie then realized that the recipe would sell.

In August of 1993, she then started to make tarts using egg yolk. She only had Php500 capital to start her business. The famous and iconic Lengua de gato emerged from her desire not to waste resources and since then, it has become one of the bestsellers, most sought-after pasalubong by the tourists.

The following year, they then decided to quit her job and focused on her thriving business. In the following months, her Lengua de Gato is already seen in the Baguio Public Market. Due to the growing demand, they registered her Business in January of the year 2014 and named it Tartland Baguio Bakeshop.

Started from her boredom, Angie’s Tartland now produces at least 1,200 jars of various sweets a day, and from her borrowed materials, she already has six (6) heavy-duty mixers, 20 gas ranges, kitchen aids, and ovens in her large kitchen.

The success story earned numerous citations including being named as one of the “most inspiring entrepreneurs” of the Cordillera in 2008 given by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship – Go Negosyo. They has also served as a speaker to various business summits and conferences and has continually inspired countless individuals in venturing into business. Given this feat that she now enjoys, she said her greatest achievement is becoming a cool mother to her children.

Rico’s Lengua De Gato is also an infamous delicacy from Baguio.

As per the agreement, FreshBuys will officially carry the brand of Rico’s Lengua de Gato and Tartland Baguio Pasarabo. Products include Lengua De Gato, Tarts, peanut brittle, and other Baguio delicacies.
