Instagram launching its new features for its live stream capabilities, and it would potentially improve the experience of users, fans, and even content creators.
Instagram’s Live Scheduling is one of the latest features that the media-sharing platform has brought out for its users. Creators can now schedule their Live broadcasts up to 90 days in advance and share the fact they’re doing so in both posts and Stories. After scheduling their upcoming Live video, they’ll then be able to share that scheduled content directly to their followers through both their Stories and Feed posts.
Practice Mode feature allows creators to connect with guests before they start a broadcast so that they can do things like check audio levels and lighting, and go over any content they plan to cover.
The launch arrives as the market for live content is heating up. In addition to enabling real-time e-commerce — an area where Instagram is deeply invested — Instagram’s biggest rival, TikTok, has also been working to make its live content a larger part of the overall user experience. Live Scheduling is available starting today to global users. Practice Mode will begin its rollout “soon,” the company says.
