Mapletree Investment reported having closed its Australian private commercial trust Mascot Private Trust (MASCOT) after a rise in equity.
Mapletree Investment Pte Ltd is a real estate development, investment, capital and property management company based in Singapore. Mapletree is focused on delivering value to its stakeholders through its asset-light business model that maximizes capital efficiency.
Mapletree Investment has reportedly closed its Australian private commercial trust Mascot Private Trust after raising a massive Australian $654 million in equity. Mascot Private Trust is fully invested at closing and owns 10 Grade A office assets and has a total asset value of about A$1.4 billion.
“The syndication of MASCOT is in line with the group’s business model, which includes being an active capital manager in both the public and private markets that constantly seeks opportunities to structure attractive investment products for a wide spectrum of investors,” said Hiew Yoon Khong, CEO of Mapletree Group.
Mapletree currently manages four Singapore-listed real estate investment trusts (REITs) and six private equity real estate funds, which hold a diverse portfolio of assets in the Asia Pacific, Europe, the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States (US).
“The group is optimistic regarding the performance of its investments in Australia and will continue to grow its footprint there, including expanding our portfolio of logistics assets,” Hiew added.
In executing a business strategy that combines the roles of real estate development, investment and capital management, Mapletree has generated consistently high returns to its stakeholders and established a track record for building award-winning development projects across various real estate classes.
The Group’s assets are located across 12 markets globally, including Singapore, Australia, China, Europe, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, The UK, the US and Vietnam.
“Going forward, we will continue to originate investment products and syndicate new funds to grow our capital management business and fulfill the demand of our investors,” Hiew further added.
