Accenture announced on Friday, Jan. 12, that their Chairman and CEO, Pierre Nanterme is stepping down from his post due to health reasons. He was reportedly diagnosed last 2016 with colon cancer.
Pierre Nanterme became Chief Executive Officer of Accenture Plc last January 2011 and Chairman of the board last February 2013. David Rowland, Accenture’s Chief Financial Officer will be serving as an interim CEO and a director on the board.
Rowland has been the CFO of the company since 2013 and during his 35-year career with Accenture, he has held a significant leadership role. Prior to becoming the CFO, he served as Accenture’s Senior Vice President of Finance for more than six years and chaired Accenture’s Operations Council.
KC McClure, head of Accenture’s finance operations, on the other hand, will replace Rowland. McClure has been with the company for over 30 years. She recently led finance operations over Accenture’s business.
Nanterme said in a statement that he is never been more confident in their business strategy, leadership team, and people.
Accenture, a consulting and outsourcing firm said that there was no change to the business outlook the company gave last month for 2019.
