Mayor Isko Moreno announced Monday, May 11, that the Manila City government has started building a quarantine facility at Tondo High School.
“We want it within the community so that it will be readily accessible to those who might be infected,” he said in his city address aired on Facebook.
The construction of other facilities is also underway at Delpan and Araullo High School to boost the city government’s response against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Manila, one of the cities with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region, is now capable of conducting 300 swab tests a day, Moreno added.
The following areas will also have quarantine facilities installed:
- T. Paez High School
- Patricia Covered Court
- Del Pilar High School
- P Gomez High School
- Arellano High School
- Dapitan Sports Complex
- Bacood Elementary School
