Recently, Ferrari, a famous Italian sports manufacturer announced they will be launching 15 new models by 2022.
Ferrari will be including an SUV-like model that they will call “Purosangue”- meaning Thoroughbred, the first time they envisioned creating such a model. Though the company planned to manufacture such models, they still refused to call it “SUV.”
Ferrari CEO, Louis Camilleri said that it is hard for him to refer the Purosangue as an SUV and added that it is still a Ferrari and will have a never-seen-before performance.
The Monza is the successor of the company’s early model Barchetta, which was being produced by Ferrari as a race car in the early 1940s and 1950s. Both Monza SP1 and SP2 cars will only be produced in 500 quantities and will be part of a new range dubbed “Icona”.
The SP1 will be a single sitter and the SP2 will be having a two sitter, both cars are open-roofed and have a carbon-fiber body.
Ferrari said that the Monza will have the most powerful engine the company has ever produced with a V-12 pushing over 810 brake horsepower that will propel the car 100 km/h just under 2.9 seconds.
Ferrari said that their business plan will steer them to making 60% of their vehicles Electric-Petrol (Hybrid) cars.
