Worry not, because JobStream App is here for you. “JobStream was created and designed to overcome these challenges,” Maridel told ASEAN.org. “Candidates can now upload their diplomas, NBI, certificates. Jobseekers can strategically find jobs closer to home to reduce commuting hours so that we can spend more time with other activities, spend more time with family and friends, and can achieve work-life balance,” Maridel added.
Maridel explained what does JobStream do saying, “JobStream is a mobile-centric that even HR practitioners can shortlist a candidate, send and interview request, browse candidate, even hire on the app.”
“JobStream’s goal is to create a space where opportunities are endless. We believe that everybody deserves a chance and JOBSTREAM wants to help to find their way regardless of age, ethnicity, status or educations background. That JobStream can be a tool in assisting them in their journey whether through employment or volunteer opportunity that set them up to be successful individuals and make their meaningful contribution to a team of like-minded co-workers,” she said.
The app is really convenient for both employers and jobseekers as JobStream has a feature that lets jobseekers showcase their talents and communication skills through uploading their video resume.
“JobStream is also designed for people who are looking for volunteer opportunities and want to get involve to communities. We want to welcome Non-Government / Non-profit organizations who need an extra hand to help more people,” Maridel stated.

Of course, all businesses have their ups and downs. Fortunately, ASEANHR.org has the opportunity to ask Maridel her challenges before launching JobStream.
According to Maridel, the vision of JobStream started in Calgary, Canada on December 2016. Unfortunately, the business partnership ended in the 3rd quarter of 2017. She said that this is her very first big challenge as an entrepreneur.
“The second and third huge challenge was during the development process of the first version of the app. There was a lot of bugs & error, user interface was poorly designed, and a lot of the functionality was not working properly,” Maridel said.
She then planned to move all the development process in the Philippines and grow it from there. She had to start from scratch. In October 2018, Maridel did a soft launch and joined SME Business Conference in SMX Convention center to validate the idea.
“During that time, we only have a website to offer so I talked to people and share the vision and everybody can relate on hours of commute and traffic daily,” she said. And that time, they successfully had 600 jobseekers who signed-up and 50 companies. That is also the time where they pushed on the development of Android and iOS.

Maridel is always highly interested and passionate about technologies. Maridel Mampusti is born and raised in the Philippines. Maridel is always highly interested and passionate about technologies.
She took her Information Technology (IT) at AMA Computer University, Manila. She successfully completed her Network and Internet Security at CDI College in Calgary, Alberta and gained a certificate in Business Intelligence at the University of Calgary.
Her technical skills include CRM, Virtualization, SQL, Data Security, Project Management, Network Architecture and Technical Reporting. Combination of skills I successfully became a Network Analyst with various clients in Calgary Alberta.
Maridel left the Philippines early 2005 hoping to get a better work opportunity abroad. She worked in a DAMAC Properties in Dubai from 2006-2008. I late 2008, she had the opportunity to go to Canada and worked as a caregiver. After a year, she decided to go back to school while working fulltime.
After 3 years of hard work, Maridel received her permanent residency in Canada and at the same time, she graduated and eventually worked in an IT consulting firm. From 2014-2016, she had a chance to travel after leaving the firm and get the chance to explore different cultures in different countries.
