MANILA — Parts of the Philippines on Friday, May 1, are shifted to a general quarantine as the government eased restrictions even as the coronavirus pandemic persists.
Only Metro Manila and 8 other areas will remain under lockdown until May 15 as studies show that these places were at high-risk of coronavirus outbreak.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the following areas will remain under ECQ until May 15:
Metro Manila
Central Luzon except for Aurora
Southern Tagalog Region (CALABARZON)
Pangasinan
Benguet
Iloilo including Iloilo City
Cebu
Bacolod City
Davao City
Other parts of the country meanwhile will begin the shift to a “new normal” or general community quarantine.
