Philippine Financial Summit 2019: Get Linked gears the youth to financial literacy

Philippine Financial Summit 2019 is a five-part nationwide summit that puts the spotlight on nation-building through finance. The first part of the series took place in the City of Pines, Baguio City, on February 2.

The summit aims to empower the youth and make finance more inclusive. With students from universities all over Northern Luzon attending, the event was filled with activities and talks geared towards promoting financial literacy and inclusion by equipping students and young professionals across different background with the tools needed to effectively utilize financial services.

The event started with an opening message by Marielle Montanido of UPJFA explaining how the summit started.

Edison Tsai, the Executive Director of Seedln Technology, was the Opening Keynote speaker and introduced what FinTech and its importance.

Andrew Cua featured image

Andrew Cua, the CEO and Founder of Tralulu, started with an introduction how and when Tralulu started and enlightened the students about his entrepreneurship journey.

Peter Ing featured image

Peter Ing of Enterprise SCI Blockchain Technologies explained how blockchain works and had an introduction about cryptocurrency.

Mark Vernon featured image

CEO and the founder of Tagcash, Mark Vernon covered the relevance of FinTech and talked about e-commerce and a little bit of blockchain.

The event was a hit among the students and closing it with a case competition. The second part of the five-part nationwide series will be in Manila on March.
