The Philippines has approved Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine, the first to be allowed for emergency use in the South-east Asia nation.
Thursday, January 14, the Philippines’ Food and Drug Administration said it had authorized the emergency use of the coronavirus vaccine from Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has shown a 95 percent success rate, is the first vaccine the Philippines has approved and can be used for individuals aged 16 years old and up, said FDA Head Eric Domingo in a virtual briefing.
