Jason Warnick is joining Robinhood as Chief Finance Officer in preparation of the company’s plan to go public.
Robinhood is a U.S.-based financial services company that offers a smartphone mobile app which allows individuals to invest in publicly traded companies and exchange-traded funds listed on U.S. stock without paying a commission. The company makes money from interest earned on customers’ cash balances and margin lending.
The company announced that they hired Jason Warnick from Amazon to serve as the chief financial officer of Robinhood. According to Vlad Tenev, co-founder and co-CEO at Robinhood, hiring a chief finance officer was part of their plan as they go public. Warnick will oversee finance, accounting, treasury, and related functions. His experience in building a customer-centric company will be critical as the company expands to new financial verticals.
Tenev said that they are lucky to have Jason join their leadership. He said that they were amazed and humbled by Jason’s ability in problem-solving and by his depth of strategic thinking.
Warnick spent nearly 20 years in Amazon, most recently as VP of Finance and Chief of Staff to their CFO.
Jason said that he was thrilled to join the amazing team at Robinhood and is looking forward to advancing their mission to democratize America’s financial system. He will be the first-ever chief financial officer of the company.
