Roxi Wen joins Mozilla as the new Chief Financial Officer

The free open-source web browser, Mozilla Firefox, announced that they hired the former CFO of Elo Touch Solutions, Roxi Wen, as their new CFO.

Mozilla Firefox is a free and open-sourced web browser developed by The Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary, Mozilla Corporation. Mozilla has been searching for a new CFO for almost a year to replace Jim Cook, who departed from the company. Cook has been with Mozilla for almost 14 years of service.

Finally, the long search has ended when the company announced that they hired Roxi Wen as the new CFO. Wen is the former CFO of Elo Touch Solutions, a manufacturer of touch screen computing systems.

Prior to Elo Touch Solutions, Wen served as Vice President of Finance at FleetPride. She served as Chief Financial Officer at GE Critical Power Business and worked at Lineage Power Holdings, Inc. with the same role.

Wen also served as a Senior Finance Manager at AECOM. She also has previous experience in the medical devices industry at Medtronic and international banking where she served as the Chief Representative of Royal Bank Canada in Beijing, China.

Chris Beard, CEO of Mozilla, states in his blog post that Wen will become a key member of Mozilla’s senior executive team with responsibility for leading financial operations and strategy as they scale their mission impact with new and exciting products, technology, and business models to better serve their users and advance their agenda for a healthier internet.

Wen brings to Mozilla experience across varying sectors of technology, from healthcare to banking, having held senior-level positions at GE Energy, Medtronic, and Royal Bank of Canada.

Wen said that she is thrilled to join Mozilla at such a pivotal moment for the technology sector. According to her, with consumers demanding more from the companies that supply the technology they rely upon, Mozilla is well-positioned to become their go-to choice and said that she is eager to lend her financial know-how to those efforts.
