On July 4, Russian internet users discovered what seems to be a security breach in Google Documents.
Google Documents, a word processor offered by Google, might have experienced a security breach. Russian internet users noticed scores of files- which are intended to be private, roaming around the internet, both in social media and search results.
Internet users were kind enough to report the crisis to Yandex, a Russian Internet Company. It was then that the rumors of a security breach started.
Following this event, Google released a statement saying that it was not a security breach. Google Documents cannot be seen by other users in search engines unless the owner of the documents made it public or if they have distributed the links for the files.
A security breach is impossible to happen at this moment as Google prioritizes the user’s safety and privacy more than anything else. Google also said that Google Documents is well protected and working correctly both for personal and joint ventures use.
