Twelve Chinese medical workers who were experts in dealing with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) arrived in the Philippines last Sunday, April 5.
In a Saturday briefing, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the Chinese experts will coordinate with fellow medical experts in hospitals and laboratories in the Philippines on improving infection prevention protocol against COVID-19.
According to Vergeire, the Chinese experts will be exchanging ideas and information with medical professionals from the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine in Muntinlupa City, Philippine Lung Center in Quezon City, and San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.
“They will observe and give recommendations appropriate to steps that will improve infection prevention control, critical care in laboratories,” Vergeire said.
The Chinese experts would be in the country until April 19.
