Lyft partners with Segway-Ninebot to gear up its next generation of shared scooters and also plans to deploy some Segway-Ninebot scooters.

Lyft is an on-demand transportation company that develops, markets, and operates the Lyft car transportation mobile app. It was launched in June 2012 by Logan Green and John Zimmer as a service of Zimride, a long distance ridesharing company the two founded in 2007.

Lyft has been gearing up its next generation of shared scooters. With Segway-Ninebot as a partner, Lyft’s update of its scooter fleet will be faster as Segway-Ninebot unveiled its newest scooter Model Max.

The Mode Max was said to be more weather resistant and reliable than previous models. It’s supposed to be stronger, and operational efficiency. Mode Max has air-filled, 10-inch front and rear wheels to help customers with the bumpy roads. The new scooter also has a wider baseboard.

Lyft was first launched its electric scooter in Denver, Colo and expands it to eight additional markets in the U.S. According to Ethan Eyler, Lyft’s head of brand for bikes and scooters, the scooter is the result of a lot of learning that they have done.

Aside from updating their scooters, Lyft is also planning to add Segway-Ninebot scooters to its fleets. These scooters have a feature of swappable batteries. These swappable batteries can be very useful as they help in increasing vehicle availability and also with the time of charging the batteries.
