Elon Musk to unveil Tesla’s new Model Y SUV

Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk announced that the company is unveiling its fifth automobile car and newest electric car “Model Y”.

Despite all the controversies Tesla has struggled with in the past months, it still manages to become one of the top automakers of electric cars. A lot of people are saying that the future of transportation is electric.

The electric vehicle is one of today’s trend that has been embraced by many people. Tesla, for example, has its very own Model 3. Model 3 has been a worldwide vehicular topic even before its release. And now, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk is planning to unveil another electric vehicle model called the “Model Y”.

Model Y is Tesla’s new compact SUV. It was said to be more affordable that Model X SUV. Model Y could be the answer to the long said affordable car in Tesla’s goal of transitioning fossil fuels to renewable energy worldwide.

The new Model Y is built on the same platform as Model 3. Model Y, according to Musk is capable of 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds, 300 miles driving range, long range version. It will cost $47,000 as a starting price. The base version will cost $39,000, a slower and shorter range version.
Model Y production will begin in late 2020. Tesla’s Model 3 is the best-selling electric car as of the moment. It has a very high demand from customers. According to Musk, Model Y could somehow surpass the demand for Model 3 Sedan.
