Go-Pay announced that it is now available as the last payment option on the Google Play Store. Go-Pay’s Senior Vice President for Digital Production Timothius Martin asserted that the cooperation between Go-Pay and Google Play is the first time in Indonesia, even though credit card payments on Google Play have become the most commonly used, this is a good challenge to overcome.
“Here, we want to provide easier access for those who do not have a credit card so they can still enjoy various applications and entertainment available on Google Play,” he explained.
There are around 150 million internet users in Indonesia with 90% of whom are smartphone users at the present. 91% of smartphone users in Indonesia use the Android OS. And with Go-Pay on Google Play, shopping for apps and in-app purchases without a credit card will be made easier. Seeing the great potential in the gaming industry, Timothius hopes that Go-Pay can support the development of apps and games from local publishers, with the company even sponsoring events such as the National Championship Mobile Indonesia PUBG 2019, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Season 2, and EVOS ESports.
